Another big attraction of the park, besides the huge baobabs, are huge tree climbing pythons in acacia woodlands. Tarangire is also home to buffaloes, zebras and variety of birds, but also quite scarce orix . Leopards are rarely seen in daylight, since they tend to sleep in the trees throughout the day. Lake Manyara is also known for more than 400 bird species, lush vegetation and a large alkaline lake, which is the seasonal breeding ground for large colonies of flamingos. Due to its diversity of habitats, this park is a home to variety of wildlife that includes different types of mammals, reptiles and birds. One of the park attractions is a 400m canopy walk that starts with a short board-walk and gradually rises from ground level up through the Manyara forest.
